Popeye’s Broccoli Dream

The trick to this tasty soup, which doubles as detox powerhouse, is the combination of broccoli, cilantro, garlic and turmeric, which give it an inflammation-fighting edge, and the miso and lime juice, that create texture and tangyness.

Use chile and cumin powder to your taste. My soups tend to be spicier, so lower the suggested use if you like it milder.

Serves 4

1 cup organic raw spinach
1 cup organic raw broccoli
2 tsp organic miso paste
1 tbsp fresh organic cilantro
1 tbsp organic cucumber
1/2 serrano chile pepper
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 clove garlic
1/4 tsp turmeric and a pinch of black pepper
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1 cup filtered water

Blend it all in a highspeed blender until creamy. Then serve and garnish with pumpkin seeds and nutritional yeast for a cheesy-flavored finish!
